A licensed acupuncturist in M.A. Jennie Makihara has been practicing since graduation from the Traditional Acupuncture Institute in Columbia, Maryland (now known as Maryland University of Integrated Health) in 2000. She is nationally certified by the NCCAOM. Jennie spent six years after completing her training, deepening her experience in Five Element Acupuncture by teaching at The Traditional Acupuncture Institute on topics such as Point Location, Diagnosis, and Qi Gong, as well as supervising in the Student Clinic. She first became interested in Energy Medicine while working as a certified massage therapist. Her diverse background also includes 10 years as a dance instructor for the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, and as a professional choreographer.
