This class generally runs from September to mid-June
Charlene Pilon, a Tai Chi practitioner for almost 3 decades and teacher for 14 years, teaches the class. She Instructs Individuals and holds group classes. Charlene is certified by the American Tai Chi and Qigong Association. Her teachers include David Masera, a student of Grandmaster Zhang Lu Ping. Grandmaster Wei Iun Huang, and his student Marie Favorito of Universal Tao Boston. Charlene Continues her training with Ken Cohen and Master Yang Yang.
The class aims to improve balance, agility, coordination, core strength, and body flexibility with gentle, slow-moving Taichi movements from the Yang & Chen Tai Chi forms and Qigong movements. Each class focuses on the breath and the connection between body, breath, and mind to build vitality, tranquility, and harmony. In addition, there is a focus on upright posture and correct alignment to reduce back pain and protect joints from injury. Tai Chi Practice confers physical, emotional, and cognitive benefits.
Moderation is always emphasized. This class is suitable for everyone! No prior experience is necessary. Students should wear loose, comfortable clothing, comfortable shoes, and bring a water bottle. If you have a health issue that may affect your participation in the class, please consult with your doctor before signing up.

Namaste, My name is Sharon, and I am a teacher of Yin Yoga. Yin yoga is a meditative style that focuses on passive stretching and holding gentle poses for an extended period. It's designed to improve flexibility, increase range of motion, and release tension in the body and mind. While in the poses I will apply gentle touch as well as energy healing. Yin Yoga encourages practitioners to tune into their bodies and minds, paying attention to the breath, thought, and body sensations. It also balances the body's energy Meridians and brings balance to the organs of the body.
The Last 1/2 Hour will be Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation that induces a state of consciousness between being awake in the mind and deep rest in the body. It is also known as "yogic sleep". My intention for the class is to encourage deep relaxation, calming the nervous system by releasing tension and stress in the body.
